Welcome to Utako Tanaka’s research group at Osaka University, Graduate
School of Engineering Science.
Our group focuses on development of “on-chip ion traps” which is realized
by combination of atomic physics and microfabrication techniques. The on-chip
ion traps enable specific ion configurations and individual control of
laser-cooled atomic ions. Such novel quantum systems are applicable to
quantum metrology, quantum computing, and quantum simulations.
